PTR Returns as Knowledge Partner for Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo 2026 in Cologne
SUNNYVALE, USA, April 6, 2026 – Power Technology Research (PTR), a global leader in energy and power market intelligence, is pleased to announce its continued role as Knowledge Partner for the Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo 2026, taking place from 17–19 November 2026 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany.
Following a successful inaugural edition in 2025, the Expo returns for its second year with significant momentum, reinforcing its position as the world’s first exhibition fully dedicated to next-generation power transmission and distribution technologies. As global energy systems undergo rapid transformation, the event provides a critical platform for industry stakeholders involved in the design, development, and deployment of efficient, resilient, and future-ready grid infrastructure.
Through this continued partnership, PTR will contribute its expertise in power grid and energy transition infrastructure, supporting industry dialogue through insights, research, and engagement with key stakeholders. This collaboration reinforces PTR’s mission to enable informed decision-making and strategic growth within the electrical infrastructure manufacturing ecosystem.
About the Event
The Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo 2026 is expected to host up to 250 exhibitors and more than 2,500 visitors, alongside 80+ expert speakers delivering insights across free-to-attend technical presentation stages, building on the 2025 edition, which brought together over 110 exhibitors and 1,200 attendees from 62 countries, including key decision-makers from transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution system operators (DSOs), and utility companies.
The event will showcase technologies across the full transmission and distribution value chain, including:
- Transformers, substations, and switchgear
- Grid monitoring systems and remote fault detection
- Demand forecasting solutions
- Emerging innovations including drones, thermal imaging, and advanced surveillance systems
New for 2026, the Expo will feature three dedicated Feature Zones focusing on Grid Resilience (sponsored by Nexans), Health & Safety, and Cybersecurity which highlight critical areas shaping the future of power infrastructure as utilities face increasing pressure to enhance system reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
The event will also host a Networking Party and Industry Innovation Awards, recognizing excellence and breakthrough advancements within the transmission and distribution sector, while fostering collaboration among a diverse ecosystem of international suppliers from Germany, the UK, Austria, Turkey, India, and beyond.
“Platforms like the Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo play a vital role in bringing together global expertise and accelerating the transition toward more resilient and intelligent grid systems,” said Hassan Zaheer, COO of PTR. “We are proud to continue our partnership and contribute to the conversations shaping the future of power infrastructure.”
