Siemens bags three Synchronous Condensers orders from Estonian transmission system operator

Elering AS has awarded Siemens Energy with a contract to install first FACTS devices to be installed in Baltic states. The synchronous condensers are installed to provide inertia for the stable operation of the grid due to ongoing integration of renewable energy integration. Each system has reactive power capability of 50 Mvar and will be installed at Püssi, Viru and Kiisa in the north of Estonia. Three projects are due to be commissioned in 2023 and 2024.
