Infinity-E, a subsidiary of Infinity Solar, a leading company in the renewable energy sector, established with the vision to develop Egypts electric vehicle charging network infrastructure, is set to invest close to US$ 19.2m in the construction of 300 electric vehicles (EV) charging stations in Egypt by 2023, as part of the master plan devised by multiple investors to have a total of 1000 charging stations in Egypt by 2023. For the year 2021, the company plans on investing close to US$ 7.7m in the construction of 100 recharging stations in several Egyptian cities along various highways. Stations are equipped with double-socket 22KW-AC-chargers and 50 kW fast DC chargers. These stations will be able to charge between two and six electric vehicles simultaneously and that they will be equipped by EVBox.The Infinity-Es electric car sector Managing Director said that the company currently has about 150 charging points at 40 charging stations across the country. Reduction in customs requirements for EV charging stations supports the assembly of stations in Egypt and similar plans have been announced by EVSE manufacturer and installer Zytech for 2021.
